Yokohama, Japan, recently hosted a global gathering in the field of intellectual property.

From September 13 to 16, 2025, the AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress was grandly held in this Japanese coastal city.

Rayto Law Firm sent a delegation, led by Managing Partner Lawyer Jiang Haijun, and including Meng Tan, Head of the Trademark and Brand Legal Practice Department, and Trainee Lawyer Zhang Luqian, to fully participate in this international IP event.

AIPPI, a globally renowned non-profit association for the protection of intellectual property, is one of the most influential events in the global IP field, bringing together over 8,000 members from more than 110 countries.

Last year, the AIPPI Congress was held in Hangzhou, China, marking the first time in its 127-year history that the event took place in China. This year, it moved to Yokohama, Japan.

Over the four-day conference, the Pacifico Yokohama venue was abuzz with the collision of ideas and the sharing of insights. The Rayto delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with fellow attendees on cutting-edge issues including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, jointly analyzing industry development trends.

During the congress, the Rayto delegation proactively initiated multiple exchange sessions with professionals from various countries, establishing extensive international connections. These included:

  • Zayrah Marzan from JAH Intellectual Property, Qatar.

  • Isabel Ferandes Requena from Fernandez Secco, Uruguay.

  • Soonwoong Kim and Min Han from JUNGJIN IP LAW FIRM, South Korea.

The delegation also connected with legal representatives and industry elites from numerous other countries, including Russia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Chile, Brazil, and Paraguay.

These exchanges broadened Rayto's international perspective and accumulated valuable global resources for serving Chinese enterprises in their globalization efforts and foreign companies with professional expertise.

This AIPPI World Congress featured a rich and diverse array of events:

  • Intro 2026 Study Questions

  • Cultural Evening

  • Borderless Taste: Mapping the flavors of Japan and Europe

The well-organized mix of professional seminars, cultural exchanges, and culinary experiences provided attendees with a multifaceted environment to discuss IP development and transnational cooperation.
